BENNETT AT THE BEACH- 30x30"

 Inspiration:

Bennett is my niece, and when she went to France with us for the first time, she packed a backpack of the most fabulous clothes. My favorite was this mustard linen crop top and raw sienna linen pants that she wore together, face resting over her arms as she stared off into the Mediterranean. At her age, I was so unsure of myself, especially how to style my hair or my clothes.  Learning myself came with a lot of time and a lot of experimenting and a lot of realizing that no one really cares about what I do or how I do it or how I look doing it. Imagine how much we'd really do and who we'd really be if we started to dance in life like no one was watching! Imagine the stories, the paintings, the inventions, the jobs, the travels, and the people! Life is so short, and I'm always reminded that there isn't enough time to be myself and whoever everyone thinks I ought to be. There isn't enough time for my dreams and everyone else's. God has given me a mind, and gifts, and a heart filled with passions and I can bury those talents in the sand in exchange for the ones the world wants to give me, or I can steward well whatever I am given, in whatever way I am given it and dance like no-one is watching.
