Laundry Day -12x12"

Inspiration:

Laundry Day was inspired by the rows of linens airing out in the countryside of Ouveillan, France. They are beautiful, of course, but they also connected me back to those “mundane," ordinary moments that become magical with time.  Growing up, I'd sit in the fresh warmth of just-dried-laundry with my back against the dryer in the early mornings before school- watching my mom iron my clothes for the day. There's just something free and beautiful about sheets drying under the sun- even more-so when they stir up a nostalgia of napping on warm sheets and listening to the “clink clink” of your mom's jewelry while she irons. I love finding those small, beautiful moments every day. 

Details: 

This is a 12x12" mixed media painting of acrylic, oil, oil stick, and pencil on 1.5" gallery wrapped, cotton canvas.  All of the edges have been painted a neutral color, and the piece has two layers of Gamvar varnish, protecting it from UV light, dust, and every day life. For ongoing care, the painting may be cleaned with a damp cloth and gentle soap as needed.

I currently ship standard to the continental US only.  Each painting is shipped out of my studio in Birmingham, AL within 2 weeks of the order date.
