THESE GOLDEN AFTERNOONS- 24x30"

Inspiration:

Do you or someone in your family ever talk about "those golden years." Maybe it was a time in your childhood or a time in your past when everything just felt easier, better, and more like you wish life could be now? I do this a lot, especially when I get nostalgic for my 90's childhood. "These Golden Afternoons" is a painting that invites you to realize that your best days are now, and these days today that feel a little mediocre or monotonous, busy with babies, and sleepless nights, and those crappy first drafts at work, or with your writing or painting or whatever pursuit you are pursuing, are part of something BIG! Today is marvelous because you and I are here, trying things out, building our family and our home and our lives. Today will be next decade's "Golden years" and I don't want us to miss it! Today is magical, and it's part of something so much bigger than we can imagine, and if we trust that today, we won't need a decade before we can see it!

Details: 

This is a 24x30" mixed media painting of acrylic, oil, oil stick, and pencil on 1.5" gallery wrapped, cotton canvas.  All of the edges have been painted a neutral color, and the piece has two layers of Gamvar varnish, protecting it from UV light, dust, and every day life. For ongoing care, the painting may be cleaned with a damp cloth and gentle soap as needed.
